Variations

These potato wedges are vegan.

If you are a cheese lover, you could sprinkle some grated cheese (dairy or plant based) in the last two minutes of air frying time for cheesy wedges.

You can also make loaded potato wedges. Check serving suggestions for how to make those.

Serving suggestions

Loaded potato wedges: Just like loaded nachos, these loaded potato wedges can be a great party appetiser.

Top with grated cheese, bacon bits just 2 minutes before the end of air frying time.

Take them out and top with some sour cream and chopped scallions. Serve hot.

Burgers: These potato wedges go very well with burgers and drinks for a snack or meal.

Side: Serve these wedges as a side with fried chicken, paneer tikka, tandoori chicken, tofu etc. for a meal.

Salad: These wedges coupled with a salad make for a nice light meal.

Snack: These crispy wedges double up as a nice hearty snack.

Serve them with a dip, chutney or ketchup.

Tips

Do not thaw the wedges. Put them directly in the air fryer basket.

You can spray air fryer basket with oil and also frozen wedges. I generally do not do that as they already have oil.

Do not overload the basket. Make sure there is not much overlap. Also, shake the wedges or flip them midway for even cooking.

Avoid using parchment paper for wedges as they will hinder even cooking.

You can use any premixed spice mix or spices that you like to toss your wedges. Even plain salt tastes good.

Instructions

Take 1 lb.  or about 450 gm. of frozen potato wedges.

There is no need to thaw.

Preheat air fryer at 390F or 200C for about 5 minutes.

Cut the packet and lay potato wedges in air fryer basket in one layer or with minimal overlapping. This is to ensure that there is even cooking.
