Banana Milkshake Recipe

I am on a milkshake making kick and having so much fun with it. This summer has been so dang HOT that I started making more and more homemade milkshakes and no-bake desserts to have something sweet that also cooled us off.

Have you seen the Oreo Milkshake and Strawberry Milkshakes we shared earlier this month? I am working on perfecting a chocolate milkshake that I hope to share soon.

I may need to try and make a peach milkshake since they are in season and have been tasting fantastic this summer.

Variations

Peanut Butter Banana Milkshake – Add in a scoop of peanut butter

Strawberry Banana Milkshake – Add in a handful of strawberries

Equipment

Blender – We are big fans of the Ninja Blender. You can use any blender that is strong enough to mix all of the ingredients.

Soda fountain-type glasses – I love the look of these soda fountain glasses. They just make the milkshake look even more decadent.

Paper milkshake straws – if you are serving this at a party or want to make them look like you are at an ice cream counter I love these paper milkshake straws.

Recipe Tips

We use ripe bananas for this recipe. Just make sure they are not brown and mushy.

If your blender is struggling to get everything blended add more milk to the blender and blend until you get a thick and creamy milkshake.

You can use coconut milk and vegan ice cream to make this dairy free.

Top with whipped cream and sprinkles to really make a fun rich and creamy shake

We keep frozen bananas in the freezer year-round for banana bread. These work fantastic in this Banana Shake!

You can add in a bit of ground cinnamon for a fun flavor addition.
