It has to be in boiling water for at least 3 hours and you have to check the water level regularly. Adding water level in the pan when water evaporates. Not when using the Instant Pot.

To make this recipe you need three things. Have the following ready when you start:

  • Can with condensed coconut milk or condensed milk
  • Water
  • Instant Pot

How To Make Instant Pot Dulce De Leche

  1. Take your inner pot from the Instant Pot and add ¾ of the inner pot with warm water. By putting the can in warm water, it takes less time for the Instant Pot to come to pressure.
  2. Put the trivet in the Instant Pot before you put the can condensed coconut milk on its side in the Instant Pot.
  3. Add more water if the can is not completely submerged in water.
  4. Close the lid of your Instant Pot and set the valve to sealing.
  5. Select the Pressure Cook button or Manual en set the timer to 20 minutes.

Quick Instant Pot Dulce De Leche

If you need the dulce de leche quicker just prepare as instructed above. Then let the Instant Pot natural release for 15 minutes before you remove the lid and take the can out of the pot.

Warning! The can will be very hot and you can get burned if you take it out without taking precautionary actions.

Put the can in a heat-resistant bowl and pour ice-cold water over the can or put it in an ice bath to cool it down quicker. When the can has cooled down enough so you can handle it, you can open the lid of the can, stir and use it.

  • 397 g condensed coconut milk or condensed milk
  • water

Instructions
