Smoked Sausage Recipes
Smoked sausage can be served in a multitude of ways. In the Netherlands, we serve smoked sausage with a dinner we call stamp pot. This is a one-pot dinner of cooked mashed potatoes mashed with sauerkraut.
The smoked sausage is then boiled and sliced to be served on top. Smoked sausage can also be served as a snack again heated in a pot with simmering hot water and then sliced and served with mustard.
In wintertime sliced smoked sausage can also be found in thick pea soup.
But the Air Fryer is such a great way to prepare a smoked sausage. Because in less than 10 minutes your snack is ready to serve. You can also serve it for breakfast as a substitute for bacon and serve it with some eggs and toast.
You can leave the smoked sausage whole when prepared and cut it half when done to serve it on a sandwich roll like a hotdog but in this case a smoked sausage dog.

How To Reheat Smoked Sausage
If you have leftover smoked sausage, you have several ways to reheat them:
- Air Fryer – you can use the Air Fryer to reheat your smoked sausage. Preheat the Air Fryer for 3 minutes at 375℉/190℃. If your slices are dark brown, you can wrap them in aluminum foil and heat them for 4-5 minutes. Else, you can heat them unwrapped for 3-4 minutes.
- Skillet – you can also use a cast-iron skillet. Heat the skillet to medium and add your leftover smoked sausage heat through for a couple of minutes until warm.
- Microwave – you can also use a microwave to reheat smoked sausage. Put them in a microwave-friendly bowl and cover them with some plastic wrap. Heat for 30 seconds and check if they are warm or repeat.

Serve Smoked Sausage With
Smoked sausage can be served with several different side dishes:
- Spinach – you can cook spinach in the Air Fryer or on the stove and add it to the sausage
- Baked potatoes – smoked sausage is great to serve together with potatoes so a baked potato is a great side dish
- Sliced potato – slice your potatoes and cook them in an Air Fryer on the stove. You can even add the sliced smoked sausage while you cook the potato slices
- Stir Fry – substitute whatever protein you have in your stir fry and add the smoked sausage
