We make frozen strawberry margaritas every year for Cinco de Mayo and the Fourth of July! It’s a quick and easy recipe and no triple sec required.

You can even omit the tequila for a virgin margarita!

If you love strawberry daiquiris, then you will love these fruity margaritas. Although, this recipe isn’t too sweet, feel free to add more simple syrup for a sweeter taste.

INGREDIENT NOTES

See the recipe card below for ingredient quantities and complete instructions.

  • Strawberries – I highly recommend using frozen strawberries but if you only have fresh strawberries on hand, you will need about 1-2 cups of ice.
  • Tequila – Any type of tequila will work for this recipe.
  • Simple Syrup – Adds sweetness.
  • Lime – A must when making margaritas.
  • Salt or Sugar– Feel free to coat the rim of your margaritas with with salt, sugar, or tajin.

HOW TO MAKE

  1. Start by preparing the simple syrup. Place the sugar and water in a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Once it comes to a boil, remove it from the heat and allow it to cool completely.
  2. Place the frozen strawberries, tequila, lime juice, and cooled simple syrup in a blender and blend until smooth.
  3. Serve immediately and enjoy!

TOP TIPS

  • To thicken the margarita, add more frozen strawberries. To achieve a looser consistency, add more lime juice, tequila, or a splash of water.
  • Want it stronger? After serving the margarita in a glass, add a splash of tequila on top to create a floater.
  • Feel free to use frozen watermelon or pineapple instead of strawberries for watermelon or pineapple margarita variations.
